JoyPet Nerang – Dog & Cat Grooming FAQ

  • Booking & Pricing

How do I book an appointment?
Click Book Now anywhere on this site, use our Setmore link, or text 📱 0491 053 093. Online booking is open 24/7.

What’s included in the base price?
Every standard groom (dogs and cats) includes a warm hydro-bath, premium shampoo, blow-dry, brush-out, ear cleanse and nail trim. Haircuts, de-shedding and teeth-brushing are add-ons, so you only pay for what your pet needs.

Do you offer multi-pet or loyalty discounts?
Yes—book two or more pets for the same day or set up a standing appointment and your discount is applied automatically at checkout.

  • Before Your Visit

Does my pet need to be vaccinated?
For everyone’s safety we follow QLD guidelines—dogs need current C3 (parvo, distemper, hepatitis) and cats need F3 (panleukopenia, herpesvirus, calicivirus). Bring proof on your first visit.

Should I feed or walk my dog first?
A light meal and quick toilet break 1–2 hours beforehand keeps tummies happy and accidents rare.

My pet is nervous / a rescue. Can you help?
Absolutely. We specialise in one-on-one, crate-free sessions with calming music, lavender diffusers and slow introductions. Bring a favourite toy or blanket if it helps them relax.

  • During Grooming

How long will the appointment take?
Anywhere from 1 to 4 hours, depending on coat type, size and services requested. We text you 10 minutes before pick-up so there’s no waiting around.

Are you really cage-free?
Yes—pets lounge on orthopedic beds in our open studio. No crates, kennels or cabinet dryers—ever.

Do you sedate animals?
No. Sedatives must be prescribed and administered by a vet. Our low-stress handling replaces medication in 99 % of cases.

  • After Grooming

My dog is scratching—should I worry?
Mild self-grooming is normal. If irritation lasts more than 24 h, call us and we’ll check for stray hair or ear sensitivity at no charge.

How often should my pet be groomed?

  • Short-coat dogs: every 6–8 weeks

  • Long-coat / double-coat dogs: every 3–4 weeks

  • Cats: every 4–6 weeks—especially Persians, Ragdolls, Maine Coons

  • Cat-Only Questions

Do cats really need professional grooming?
Yes—regular comb-outs reduce mats, hairballs and excess dander. Elderly or overweight cats often can’t reach every spot themselves.

Will my cat be near dogs?
Never. Feline appointments are booked in cat-only blocks, with a separate quiet room and pheromone diffusers.

  • Policies & Safety

Can you remove fleas or ticks?
If live Flea/ticks are found during a groom we pause, phone you and follow QLD parasite protocols.

What’s your cancellation policy?
Free if you cancel or reschedule 24 h ahead. Same-day cancellations = 50 % fee; no-shows are charged in full.

Do you guarantee your work?
Yes—tell us within 48 h if something isn’t perfect and we’ll adjust free of charge.
